The Offshore Wind Innovation to the US took place from 22 to 25 October. The aim of this mission was to strengthen knowledge exchange surrounding innovation in the offshore wind sector. The delegation consisted of 12 Dutch companies and knowledge institutions and was led by Bob Meijer of TKI Offshore Energy.
It was an intensive program in which participants visited Boston, New Bedford, New London and New York, among others. The program included visits to the University of Massachusetts, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, New Bedford Ocean Cluster, Connecticut Wind Collaborative, New York City Offshore Wind Innovation Hub and NOWRDC (National Offshore Wind Research and Development Consortium).
The guideline for the program was the study Offshore wind R&D opportunities for the Netherlands in the USA set up by the IA. This examines 8 themes surrounding offshore wind where collaboration between American and Dutch innovative companies is possible.
The intensive program organized by the Innovation Attaches in Boston and Washington DC. They were supported by RVO/ICEP and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE). For more information about offshore wind in the US, please contact Kim Tran, Marcella Kneppers or Kees Mokveld.
