From September 21 – 24, 2021, the Seanergy Exhibition and Conference 2021 took place in Nantes,France. Seanergy is one of the largest conferences in the field of Renewable Offshore Energy in France. The conference focusses among others on offshore wind energy, wave energy, tidal energy and other forms of offshore energy.

The Netherlands was well represented at the trade fair associated with the conference through a Netherlands Lounge organized by the NBSO in Nantes and Holland Home of Wind Energy (HHWE). Co-exhibitors in the Netherlands Lounge were Deep B.V., Herman Senior, Eager.one, H2-M and We4Ce – the rotor blade specialist. Next to the Netherlands Lounge, a number of Dutch companies was present with their own booths. The international matchmaking was supported by the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and also RVO/ICEP provided the necessary support.

France aims to be completely carbon neutral by 2050. To achieve this, France is investing heavily in sustainable energy, in which offshore wind energy plays a very important role. In 2020, 11 offshore wind projects have been allocated, of which 7 bottom-fixed and 4 floating wind projects. In addition, France wants to tender 1GW of offshore wind energy every year until 2028. In 2021, the commercial tender for an offshore wind farm off the coast of the Cotentin, Normandy has been published. The majority of the projects are planned to be built off the coast of Normandy, Pays de la Loire, Brittany and in the Mediterranean.
