Are you active in offshore wind energy and aiming to develop your activities in the Baltic Sea? Then don’t’ hesitate and join the mission to Lithuania (Klaipeda) and Poland (Gdańsk). Do you need more reasons?

According to Poland’s offshore wind act the country aims to install 6 GW by 2030 and 11 GW ten years later. However draft revisions of these plans mention 18 GW in 2040 and adding additional auctions of 2GW every 2 years, starting in 2025. Lithuania currently caries out the auctions of the first 1.4 GW of offshore wind into the Lithuanian electricity system and the announcement of an additional 2 GW is expected soon.

This offers many opportunities for the offshore sector in the Netherlands. Developers are building up their supply chains in Poland and the Polish government is currently investing in its maritime logistics. In Lithuania there is a need for specialists for the engineering and development phase.

To further explore the opportunities for the Dutch wind sector and to start and intensify business relations, the Embassy in Lithuania, PIB cluster Linkedbyoffshorewind and NWEA are organising a 2-in-1 factfinding trade mission to Poland and Lithuania.
